From the home to the world market

Based on the national Swiss trademark application, the area of protection may be extended to numerous countries of the Madrid Agreement or the Madrid Protocol. The extent of protection of marks, which are registered internationally, extends to all member states selected by the applicant. The extension is cost-effective and the country designation may be adapted custom-made to the requirements of the owner. If the international application is filed within six months after the Swiss application, the IR mark retroactively enjoys in all designated countries the protection starting from the date of the Swiss base application.
