Gregor Wild's practice focuses on copyright and trademark law. He advises and represents companies, public institutions, and private clients in the field of digital copyright law, with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and the global exploitation of rights. His expertise lies primarily in Swiss intellectual property law and treaty-based international intellectual property law, with particular experience representing clients before the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI), Swiss courts, and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). He also has practical experience in more than 80 foreign jurisdictions, where he regularly collaborates with local specialists. He has developed particular expertise in securing rights in the digital environment, as well as in the clarification and allocation of copyright ownership and related risk management.
Following his doctorate in copyright law and his work in the trademark department at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI), Gregor Wild joined RENTSCH PARTNER in 2002. Based on his habilitation thesis entitled «Publicity and Registers in Industrial Property Law», the University of Lucerne appointed him Privatdozent in 2015 and awarded him the title of Titular Professor of Intellectual Property Law in 2025. Since 1 January 2012, he has been a member of the Swiss Federal Arbitration Commission for the Exploitation of Copyrights and Related Rights (FACR), appointed by the Swiss Federal Council. He is the author of monographs, commentaries, and textbooks in the field of intellectual property law, as well as co-editor of sic! – Journal of Intellectual Property, Information and Competition Law.
