Edwin Wiedmer works as a patent attorney focusing on inorganic chemistry, manufacture and processing of aluminum materials, mechanics and packaging technology.

Edwin Wiedmer studied chemistry at the University of Bern. During several years of working at the research institute of a major Swiss company he acquired basic knowledge in metallurgy of aluminum alloys and did a PhD on the topic "Electrochemical Properties and Corrosion Behavior of Regions Near Grain Boundaries of Aluminum Alloys". Several years followed as a patent attorney in the patent department of the company, finally as head of the department, followed by many years as an independent patent attorney and as a patent attorney in a patent law firm in Zurich. Edwin Wiedmer joined RENTSCH PARTNER as a patent attorney on December 1, 2011.
