Signs serve as distinction of goods and services

According to Swiss Law (Trademark Act) trademarks are signs which are appropriate to distinguish the goods or services of one company from those of other companies. A trademark supports the customer when selecting products, creates confidence in a product and signalises quality, provided that the product concerned shows the promised attributes. The Trademark Act does not restrict the shape or medium of a trademark as long as this sign is able to be used as a distinguishing feature.
